Skin Soothing Salt Bath

Epsom salt 1 cup
Baking soda 1cup
Finely ground oat flour ¼ Finely ground
Lavender flowers ( or calendula or both) * A coffee grinder works great to grind
Essential oil of choice, as desired. (lavender, chamomile or patchouli work well)

Mix all ingredients together and add the essential oil drop by drop. Mix until the oil is absorbed and the salt gets dry. Store the salt in an air tight container. Oats have an amazing skin soothing quality, lavender and calendula have powerful healing qualities.

Cleopatra’s Bath

Epsom salt 1 cup
Baking soda ½ cup
Milk powder (soy milk works well, too) ½ cup
1tbsp. honey
Essential oil of choice, as desired (juniper, rosemary or bergamot work well)

Mix the salts together and add the essential oil drop by drop. Mix until the oil is absorbed and the salt gets dry. Store the salt in an air tight container. The milk has acids which help to break up the “glue” that holds dead skin cells together and softens the skin. Honey is a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin.

Basic Bath Bombs

citric acid 2 cups
Baking soda 2 cups
Witch Hazel
15 to 30 ml Essential Oils of choice
Optional: Up to 1/2 cup of dried flower petals, herbs, spices, etc
Utensils: Bowl, spoon, empty spray bottle, bath bomb mold

Pour Witch Hazel into spray bottle, mix all dry ingredients in bowl. Add essential oils to dry ingredients, mix well. Spray liberally with witch hazel while mixing constantly. Mixture should be gummy but not wet ( test for readiness by squeezing a handful; if it retains its shape it is ready). Press into the bath bomb mold, release onto wire rack or wax paper. Allow to set overnight, package in bags or plastic.
Note; mixture will fizz if you get it wet at any time during this process so make sure your utensils are dry before starting!
